Paying for Canva Pro with a prepaid virtual card
Canva’s help pages don’t mention prepaid cards. They list the card networks it takes: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB and Diners. The card must be activated, enabled for online and international purchases, and allowed to pay in the currency Canva detects from your location.
Canva payment rules
Summarised from Canva’s own help pages on 31 Oct 2026. Rules change, so open the source before you rely on it.
- Payment methods
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB and Diners cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna and Stripe Link. Local options such as Pix, UPI and GCash depend on your country.
- Prepaid cards
- Not mentioned on Canva’s payment pages.
- Billing currency
- Canva detects your currency from your location, and your card must be allowed to pay in it. If your local currency isn’t available, you’re charged in US dollars at your bank’s conversion rate.
- Card and country
- Debit cards aren’t supported in Brazil and India. If you’re asked for a billing country and ZIP code, check they’re correct. Canva says ZIP codes are for US addresses only.
- Card checks
- Your card issuer may ask for an extra step before the payment completes, such as a code sent by SMS or an approval in a banking app.
- On your statement
- Canva, Canva*invoice_id, Canva UK Operations Ltd, APPLE*Canva or GOOGLE*Canva, among others.

How buying works -
2
Open payment settings
In Canva, go to
SettingsBillingPayment method -
3
Enter the card details
Type the card number, expiry date and CVV, and the billing address shown with your card details, exactly as written.
-
4
Cover every charge
A prepaid card can only pay what it holds. Keep enough balance for each charge, including tax and any currency conversion.
You can only manage a payment method in a web browser, not in the Canva app. If you subscribed through iPhone or Android, the card is managed by Apple or Google instead.
Why Canva declines a card, and what to do
A declined payment doesn’t take money from a Cardn3 card. Work through these in order.
-
1
Not enough balance
Canva’s first check is funds. Keep enough on the card for the plan price, including any tax and currency conversion.
-
2
The card can’t pay in the detected currency
Canva picks the currency from your location. Check it looks right and that your card can pay in it. Ask support about your card if you’re unsure.
-
3
Online or international payments not enabled
Canva says a new card must be activated and enabled for online and international purchases.
-
4
Wrong card details or billing country
Check the number, expiry date and CVV, and the billing country. Enter a ZIP code only for a US address.
-
5
“Unable to process payments with credit cards”
Canva suggests turning off ad blockers and browser extensions, clearing cache and cookies, or trying another browser, device or network.
